Clinical Services Manager, Forensic Psychiatric Services BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services

What you’ll do
Direct the strategic planning process and coordinate the process of operational planning across the assigned clinical program in collaboration with the Provincial Executive Director.
Integrate specific goals and objectives into the activities of the clinical services ensuring linkages with individual performance plans, and quality management initiatives.
- Oversee and coordinate on-going program team planning, development, evaluation and quality improvement activities that facilitate team goal setting, problem solving, conflict resolution and collaboration by arranging and facilitating meetings and in-services;
- reviewing team policies and procedures, revising documents, and developing new policies and procedures; selecting and utilizing outcome measures, implementing new approaches to care, and evaluating effect of changes in patient centered care practice;
composing semi-annual and annual reports; and consult with team and collaborate with other Clinical Services Managers and the Provincial Executive Director regarding efficiency of processes and procedures and changes in policies and procedures to ensure streamlined, effective and patient / family centered practices.
Manage service area operations by coordinating and establishing priorities, assessing and monitoring staffing requirements and supplies.
Define an effective workforce plan in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders that ensures the availability of adequate & appropriate staff according to operational demands and environmental and resource constraints.
Develop, recommend, implement and evaluate staffing patterns, rotations and vacation schedules to ensure staffing to meet patient needs.
Provide leadership to staff through collaborative coaching, guiding and modeling key behaviours and strategies, encouraging dialogue and providing guidance and advice to facilitate resolutions to work issues.
Foster partnerships and establish systems that ensure seamless client flow.
What you bring
Qualifications
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in nursing or a related health profession from an accredited University.
- A minimum of seven years recent related clinical experience including two years working in a managerial / leadership capacity in a clinical setting.
- Current practicing registration with a relevant professional association.

- Commitment to develop knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in the foundational documents including Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan and Remembering Keegan : A First Nations Case Study and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have : Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (The Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).
