About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Assistant Manager is accountable for the nursing units that report to the Health Services Manager.
The Assistant Manager will enable full scope of practice; promote a supportive work environment and service that encompasses ethics, organizational health, population health, quality, risk and safety as part of the program accountabilities.
The Assistant Manager supports the Health Services Manager in all aspects of program service delivery, ensuring through effective individual and team performance compliance with Quality Standards, and all relevant legislation, policies and standards related to health care, Accreditation and professional nursing services.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Registered Nurses (NSCN)
- Five (5) years recent clinical nursing experience required, at least one year in a rural setting preferred
- Two years of experience in a supervisory, leadership and / or management role preferred.
- Completion of or willingness to complete a leadership development program
- Demonstrated commitment to the Home First philosophy while fostering client independence
- Strong human resource management, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills and a high degree of initiative and self-motivation are required
- Ability to identify and report budgetary pressures to the manager and assist the manager in identifying mitigation strategies to keep spending within budget
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Permanent Full-Time (100%) position, 75 Hours Bi-Weekly
Compensation and Incentives
$40.16 - $53.35 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
