Program : Industry Grants and NGIF Emissions Testing Centre program
Employment Type : Full Time
NGIF Capital Corp., through its subsidiary NGIF Accelerator, is hiring a Tech Scout to join the team responsible for advancing emerging technology opportunities to market through technology development projects. The Tech Scout will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and championing breakthrough innovations that have the potential to transform the natural gas sector and advance cleantech adoption in Canada and beyond.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technology intelligence capabilities, a deep curiosity for emerging solutions, and the ability to translate technical and market insights into actionable opportunities. This role blends early-stage technology scouting with strategic ecosystem engagement, working across startups, academia, research institutions, and industrial partners to identify promising technologies aligned with NGIF’s innovation priorities.
As a highly external-facing position, the Tech Scout will build and maintain relationships with technology proponents, innovators, solution providers, investors, and key stakeholders across the energy and cleantech ecosystems. The role involves conducting detailed assessments of early-stage technologies, evaluating technical feasibility and commercial readiness, analyzing competitive landscapes, and identifying pathways for pilot demonstration and commercialization.
Tech Scout will also support market and sector studies to uncover emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities in the natural gas value chain - spanning production, transmission, distribution, RNG, methane emissions reduction, carbon capture, and other low‑carbon technologies. Through this work, the Tech Scout will help position NGIF Accelerator as a leading connector and catalyst for clean technology innovation, driving solutions that make natural gas energy more sustainable, efficient, and competitive in the future.
