One of our top partners in the Electric Vehicle space is preparing to build a facility that will be a crucial part of Canada’s Electric Vehicle (EV) supply chain in Kingston area.

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Construction Supervisor who will be responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and quality execution of all construction related field activities closely partnering with project leaders and EPCM partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inputs to construction related strategies and executing the construction scope of the project.
  • Conduct constructability reviews to ensure issues are resolved prior to mobilizing field construction resources.
  • Input technical field documentation ahead of execution phase of projects and provide technical or commercial expertise to the project team when needed.
  • Act as primary technical expert of the upcoming field construction activities for third party contractors.
  • Work with the EPCM firm to represent company's expectations for field-related decisions, development and close-out.
  • Oversee the construction and handover of projects to ensure projects are completed in accordance to set design, budget, and schedule.
  • Gather and integrate relevant data for reporting progress, complex issues, or decisions to the Project Leaders and Construction Manager.
  • Support safety training of employees and 3rd party trades when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or University level degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Mechanical. Electrical, Civil or other Engineering focused with construction field-specific training or certification.
  • 15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience with at least 5+ years in leading construction projects for large industrial projects in relevant sectors.
  • In depth knowledge of construction related EHS Standards, legal requirements and industry good practices.
  • Knowledge of industrial project trades and the interactions between all trades.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Highly organized, and ability to work in matrix organizations.
