With a program currently comprising over 200,000members across several provinces in Canada, our client is currently seeking tofill a position for a lawyer to handle representation cases for its members inOntario.

Job description

The lawyerwill be responsible for advising and representing customers at the level ofvarious files affecting university, housing and labor law.

The lawyer could also be called upon to provide legal consultationsfamily, business and immigration. By the nature of itsactivities, our client does not require any minimum billable hours from itslawyers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Conduct legal consultations over the phone with clients in various legaldomains.
• Provide legal representation for clients before different administrativetribunals in Quebec and Ontario.
• Assist clients in small claims court cases, including drafting procedures anddemystifying the judicial process.
• Develop internal tools such as procedure templates, guides, and a case lawregistry.
• Create training sessions to simplify legal issues for members of partnergroups.
• Supervise the work of collaborators and legal technicians.

Qualifications

• Member of the Bar of Quebec for a minimum of two (2) years.
• Member of the Bar of Ontario for a minimum of one (1) year.
• Ability to manage a high volume of consultations and organize work based onpriorities.
• Demonstrates empathy and active listening with clients.
• Strong interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy.
• Ability to work in a team, promote collaboration, and support colleagues.
• Inspires confidence and positively influences the team.
• Proficient in both French and English, both orally and in writing.

Work conditions

• Salary between 98 000$ to 135 000$ / yearly based on experience.
• No minimum billable hours.
• 4 weeks of vacation and slowdown of activities during the holiday period;
• $500.00 / year for health and well-being.
• $100.00 / month for cell phone and internet.
