PURPOSE
The Communications and PR Intern will work directly with the Manager, Communications Strategy and Public Relations on all aspects of internal communications and external public relations and media relations work.
This is an experiential learning opportunity where the selected candidate will be embedded within an agile and dynamic OEM marketing and communications team.
This position is a 4-6 month contract.
This position reports to the Manager, Communications Strategy and PR
RESPONSIBILITIES
Public / Media Relations (60% of role)
- Work to develop and execute media events and drive programs
- Support media fleet management
- Support media activity tracking including KPI measurements
- Identify new opportunities for earned media exposure
- Maintain and expand media contact list
- Support planning for auto shows and public events
Corporate Communications (40% of role)
- Support internal communications efforts including monthly employee newsletter, presentations and other initiatives
- Assist development of dealer communications
REQUIREMENTS
Recent graduate or 2nd year+ student registered in a recognized Co-op or Intern Program at a Canadian college or university;
Marketing, Communications or Public Relations students or graduates preferred.
- Must have good marketing and / or public relations knowledge
- Must have a valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
