The Opportunity
As part of our Warehouse Team in Cambridge, the Material Handler - Team Lead is responsible for :
- Oversee the daily activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Plan and prioritize work assignments to ensure optimal workflow and productivity.
- Train and develop team members on proper warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Ensure accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure they meet company standards.
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Evaluate the performance of team members and provide feedback to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise among team members.
- Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities and report to management as required.
- Efficiently use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory, manage orders, and optimize warehouse operations.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, inventory tracking, and generating reports to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Completing other duties as assigned
- May be required to go to alternative warehouse locations to complete daily assigned duties
What you need to be successful in the role :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role
- Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team to achieve high performance and productivity
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational issues and conflict
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory and manage orders
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, inventory tracking, and report generation
- Experience on counterbalance, stand up and reach forklifts.
- Able to lift 50lbs repetitively.
