Responsibilities

• Able to read / understand construction plans
• Operate heavy equipment at construction sites in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
• Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by AFL policies and procedures
• Perform pre-shift inspections, change attachments, lubricate, and refill equipment while performing other site duties as assigned
• Report any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures
• Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and coworkers
• Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required
• Heavy equipment operated at AFL include, but are not limited to, backhoes, track-hoe, skid steers, etc.
• Perform other site duties or functions, consistent with status or vocational ability as may be required from time to time
• Ensure a safe work environment for our people, clients, subcontractors, and the public
• Represent AFL to the public in a manner that is consistent with corporate values and goals
• Lead by example
• Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
