Advanced Drone Operator

Company :

GroundTruth Exploration is a company with a dedicated team providing new and innovative exploration methods which help increase the odds of successful mineral deposit discoveries.

With our Drones to Drills™ approach, we significantly reduce exploration costs and environmental impact.

Currently, there is a growing demand for UAV based Magnetics, Aerial Imagery, LiDAR, and various other UAV-based Geophysical surveys.

GroundTruth Exploration seeks to hire a successful candidate to join their team as an Advanced Drone Pilot Operator to assist and lead GroundTruth’s UAV Geophysical Surveys.

Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced drone pilot to join our team working across Canada and Internationally on client mineral exploration projects.

The successful candidate should have working knowledge and hands on experience using drones and drone technologies / software.

The pilots must have an advanced drone license certified by Transport Canada. The job will require the individual to work independently and collaboratively with other pilots and members of the team.

Project locations vary, with many based in Canada, but with the expectation of more Internationally in the future. In general, project locations are in remote regions of the country where greenfields mineral exploration projects are likely to take place.

The ideal candidate should be ready and able to work in adverse and remote wilderness locations, on a project by project basis.

Working Conditions :

The position requires employees to work outside in various terrain and weather conditions. The weather conditions include but are not limited to;

a temperature range of -35 C to +35 C, very dry to very humid climate, heavy rainfall, lightning storms, wind and snow. Terrain can vary from rolling hills to steep mountain sides.

A typical field season runs from mid-May to late October. Work days are 12-hour shifts that run 7 days a week for the duration of the project unless otherwise stated.

The project location may be reached by a variety of transportation methods such as; truck, helicopter, boat, fixed-wing aircraft or all-terrain vehicles.

Accommodations will be provided depending on location, and may consist of a wall tent with satellite internet and all other camp elements.
