Our client is seeking a Senior Deployment Operations Specialist to run scripts from PeopleSoft to SAP

Duration - 1 year

Work mode : Hybrid : 3 days in office (Tuesdays and Wednesday mandatory)

Location - Toronto or Montreal

Project / Assignment

Support the program to replace the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, which is at end of life. The key objective of this project is to transform the Finance organization leveraging technology around a centralized financial core system across all entities.

The scope of the project is :

Transformation of processes and structures to align with best practices with a clear vision and TOM (targeted operating model) for Finance and Tax

Centralization of Financial Core systems across entities + creation of a Finance Data Hub + replacing Peoplesoft, Hyperion and Back Office

Role Overview

The Script Runner is responsible for executing the predefined Cutover Plan, which are sets of tasks related to the migration from the legacy system to the new solution.

These tasks include data migration, system configuration, application deployment, and various validation checks. The Script Runner ensures that these tasks are assigned and executed correctly and according to the plan tasks dependencies (predecessors and successors), and they report on the outcomes to the Cutover Leads.

Key responsibilities

1. Script Execution :

Execute migration scripts as per the detailed Cutover Plan.

Ensure that tasks are assigned and executed in the correct sequence and at the correct time as defined in the detailed Cutover Plan.

Handle both automated and manual tasks of the Cutover Plan, depending on the tasks type and requirements.

2. Monitoring and Validation :

Monitor the output and results of each tasks execution to ensure they are successful.

Validate that the resources have completed their tasks as expected.

Identify any issues or errors that arise during tasks execution and escalate to the Cutover Leads as needed.

3. Coordination :

Coordinate with other team members, to ensure that dependencies are managed and that tasks are executed in harmony with other project activities.

Communicate progress, issues, and outcomes to the Cutover Leads.

4. Documentation :

Maintain detailed records of each tasks execution, including start and end times, results, and any deviations from the expected outcomes.

Document any manual interventions or adjustments made to the detailed Cutover Plan during the execution process.

5. Issue Resolution :

Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during tasks execution (only for issues related to the Cutover Plan itself and not the solution).

Provide input and feedback on improving the tasks sequence and the overall cutover processes based on the issues encountered.
