The Business Systems Analyst plays a key role in optimizing commercial operations by analyzing requirements and designing solutions for Synthesis, Scheduler, and integration issues.
You'll collaborate closely with the Commercial Operations team to understand their needs and develop enhancements. Your expertise will also be crucial in configuring, testing, and supporting existing systems and integrations within Commercial Operation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop an understanding of the overall architecture and workflow.
- Learn about the different interconnected applications (Scada, LIMS, Petrotranz, Dynamics D365, T-Boss, Flowcal) that connect to Synthesis and Scheduler.
- Develop an understanding of Ticketing, Scheduling, Volumetric and Financial Accounting processes.
- Learn and understand the Commercial Operations business to effectively troubleshoot and assist users.
- Troubleshoot and help resolve application and integration issues as required to maintain daily ticketing, scheduling, volumetric, quality management and financial accounting workflow.
- Provide system testing support for the confirmation of new business requirements prior to implementation into the production environments for Synthesis and Scheduler.
Candidate should be familiar with functional and non-functional testing.
- Assist in the management of master data as it relates to Synthesis, Pipeline scheduler and associated interfaces.
- Ability to lead and complete smaller projects or initiatives. Initiatives and projects would involve leading the RPA and Power BI development.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure best practice and ongoing review of processes, procedures, and systems for efficiencies.
- Support and assist in the training of head office and field staff (35 users or more) on the use of the Commercial Operations systems.
- Act as internal consultant to other business units who need information on the exchange of data between their systems and the Commercial Operations systems, where appropriate
- Maintain security profiles of the users of the Commercial Operations systems.
- After hours calls / help desk triage and support
- Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Post-secondary degree, in computer sciences, Management Information Systems, IT engineering.
- Business analysis / accounting experience considered an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience in application configuration and testing in a business environment.
- Prior programming experience would be considered an asset.
- Prior trouble-shooting experience would be considered an asset.
- Prior experience in technical writing and documentation would be considered an asset.
- Prior experience with Visio would be considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Most of the work is performed in an office environment.
- Travel to Gibson terminals may be required 10% of the time.
