Overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure SQL Database Administrator to join our team! As a SQL Server Database Administrator you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems

Job Type : Full Time / Contract

Job Location : Toronto

Responsibilities

  • Plan, configure, maintain, administrate, tune performance of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database
  • Provide database space calculations for the supported database environments
  • Design and write data loading and / or conversion scripts / stored procedures
  • Build and test database backup / recovery scripts
  • Build and test database automation scripts
  • Prepare database change in DACPAC and develop Azure CI / CD release pipeline to promote DACPAC
  • Promote database changes through Development, Integration Testing, QA, UAT, Production environments
  • Perform database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning etc.
  • Document and resolve any database problems / issues

Skills Required

  • Expert experience with planning, configuring, maintenance, administration, performance tuning of Microsoft Azure SQL database and Synapse database
  • Demonstrated experience with DACPAC
  • Experience with SQL server stored procedure development
  • Experience with Azure build automation using Ansible, Terraform, Packer and VSTS
  • Expert experience with git for source code version control, including branching, merging and pull requests
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including storage account, file share, Azure key vault, Azure portal, Azure monitoring tools
  • Experience with CI / CD release pipeline

    • Nice to have

  • Oracle Databases. Administration, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning, OEM etc.
