Why is this role important?
The co-op student coordinates the Architecture Gating process by interacting with different stakeholders. Monitor project progress to ensure that it adheres to the project plan and schedule.
Aids in data visualization within the Enterprise Architecture department to help develop the annual IT Roadmap.
What you'll do
1.Guide and coordinate project and technical teams on the application of CIHI’s project gating, a key part of CIHI’s governance review process.
2.Maintains and monitors project plans and schedules.
3.Visualize and analyze the current status of IT resources (e.g. applications or databases) at CIHI in terms of usage, classification, and risk assessment.
4.Monitor PHI access and logging capabilities and ensure that CIHI technologies adheres to privacy legislation.
5.Aid in the development of CIHI’s standards inventory, a collection and assessment of all information standards currently being used at CIHI.
6.Facilitate the development of architecture gating and engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements and review existing process.
7.Research industry trends and best practices in architecture and project gating to develop recommendations for CIHI.
8.Identify performance metrics for the gating process using available data and resources.
9.Assist with operational activities related to CIHI’s software architecture and project gating process.
What you'll bring to the table
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited post-graduate University
- Knowledge of and / or interest in software development practices (e.g. waterfall, iterative, agile) and project gating processes.
- Knowledge of and / or interest in applying change management and stakeholder engagement frameworks.
- Experience in creating process flows and workflows.
- Knowledge or awareness of process improvement activities and practices.
- Knowledge of the eHealth landscape and general processes and best practices.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Microsoft suite of tools to create visualizations (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
- Project management experience is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and research skills.
