Job Title : AutomotiveController

Location : Barrie

Job Overview : The AutomotiveController is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects ofthe automotive dealership or group.

This includes financialreporting budgeting forecasting cost control inventory managementcompliance and strategic planning.

The Controller plays a key rolein ensuring the financial health and success of thedealership.

KeyResponsibilities :

FinancialReporting :

  • Prepareaccurate and timely financial reports including profit and lossstatements balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Provide analysis and insights into financial performanceto support decisionmaking processes.

Budgeting andForecasting :

  • Developannual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with seniormanagement.
  • Monitor performance against budgetand forecast identifying variances and recommending correctiveactions as needed.

Cost Control :

  • Implement cost control measures to optimizeexpenses and improve profitability.
  • Monitorexpenses closely and identify opportunities for cost reduction orefficiency improvements.

InventoryManagement :

  • Overseeinventory management processes including purchasing pricing andstocking.
  • Ensure inventory levels areoptimized to meet demand while minimizing carryingcosts.

Compliance :

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standardstax regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Stay uptodate on changes in regulations that may affectthe automotive industry.

FinancialAnalysis :

  • Conductfinancial analysis to support decisionmaking processes such asevaluating the financial viability of investments orinitiatives.
  • Provide insights andrecommendations based on financial data and analysis.

TeamManagement :

  • Superviseand mentor finance team members including accountants bookkeepersand financial analysts.
  • Provide guidancetraining and support to ensure the team performseffectively.

RelationshipManagement :

  • Build andmaintain relationships with external stakeholders including banksauditors and vendors.
  • Negotiate terms andagreements to benefit the dealership or group.

StrategicPlanning :

  • Collaboratewith senior management to develop strategic plans and initiativesto drive growth and profitability.
  • Providefinancial expertise and insights to support strategicdecisionmaking.

ContinuousImprovement :

  • Identifyopportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancementswithin the finance function.
  • Implement bestpractices and technology solutions to streamline processes andimprove effectiveness.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Controller in theautomotive industry 3 years
  • CPA ispreferred
  • Strong understanding of automotivedealership operations and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and MSExcel.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolvingskills.
  • Effective communication and leadershipabilities.
  • Detailoriented and highlyorganized.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpacedand dynamic environment.
