S2324-33 Educational Assistant - Cold Lake High School

This is a full-time (1.0 fte) position commencing as soon as possible and for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.

The assignment involves assisting with students one-on-one and in group settings, supporting educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills and self-help.

Cold Lake High School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 560 students in grades 10-12. Cold Lake High School is innovative, collaborative and passionate in the delivery of high quality education to every student.

Preference will be given to applicants who have :

Post-Secondary training and / or experience as an Educational Assistant

Knowledge and experience with behavioural strategies

Experience working one-on-one and / or in a classroom setting

Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers

Knowledge and experience in alternate communications strategies

Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Training and skills that would be an asset include :

Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and / or rehabilitation

SIVA and / or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
