Job Description :
Universal Staffing is currently recruiting for a fulltime Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our client based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on rides and equipment, diagnose mechanical issues and propose solutions.
Having a strong mechanical background is required for this role.
Rate of Pay : $27.00 to $31.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintaining the established high standards of safety on all attractions and rides as assigned to work on.
- Perform daily safety checks and inspections on park attractions and rides.
- Complete repairs required to ensure rides always remain safe on operable, reporting any discrepancies that may arise to ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve.
- Communicate with Park Office and Maintenance team when equipment needs immediate attention to ensure timely repair and coordination.
- Maintain all appropriate documentation such as inspection records, repair records, incident reports, and so on as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
- 2-5 years of previous experience in a mechanic role
- Experience in an Amusement Park setting is an asset
- Red seal or equivalent certification required
- Must have knowledge working with mechanical equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, water systems / pumps, and electricity
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and present solutions
- WHIMS certificate is a benefit
- First Aid certificate is a benefit
