PortsToronto connects Toronto to the broader world, whether welcoming travellers to and from Toronto through Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, importing and exporting goods through the Port of Toronto, or providing Torontonians with recreational opportunities at the Outer Harbour Marina and the Leslie Street Spit.

Through strategic partnerships and collaborative efforts with various stakeholders, PortsToronto has helped shape Toronto's waterfront into a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive space that reflects the city's dynamic spirit and global aspirations.

Following the recent announcement of the retirement of its long serving Chief Financial Officer, PortsToronto is seeking a dynamic new leader to navigate the organization through its next phase of development.

Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating closely with the Board of Directors and other members of PortsToronto’s senior leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Strategy (CFO) sets the overarching operational and financial trajectory of PortsToronto, ensuring alignment with organizational vision and objectives.

In doing so, the CFO is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight in the areas of strategic business initiatives, accounting, corporate reporting, risk compliance and management, insurance, information technology, finance, and treasury.

A key priority for the new CFO will be developing and executing financial strategies that align with the Port's overall strategic objectives.

This may involve evaluating new business opportunities, assessing financial implications of strategic initiatives, and providing financial guidance to support decision-making.

Additionally, the CFO will initiate and manage financing and funding for business initiatives, including business operations and Infrastructure Projects in the Five-Year Capital Plan.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of success leading the financial management of an organization with parallels to PortsToronto and will bring a demonstrated ability to enhance organizational effectiveness, foster growth, and ensure financial sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a Board of Directors and possess excellent communication and relationship building skills with the proven ability to garner confidence, respect, and trust with respect to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including federal and other governmental officials, as well as staff, private and public sector stakeholders, community groups, and the public.

This is a unique opportunity to be the CFO of an organization that provides essential transportation infrastructure and develops city-building initiatives that contribute to Toronto’s position as a world-class city.
