IT Commerce Team Lead

The Commerce Team is responsible for the entire life-cycle of commerce applications and hardware such as Point of Sale (POS) and Self Checkout (SCO).

The Commerce Team Lead will guide the people and activities of the Commerce Team in the transition to, and subsequent support of, new commerce-related applications and processes, while supporting legacy systems and ensuring availability of systems.

Responsibilities include :

  • Plan, organize and lead the commerce team to help the organization achieve goals.
  • Lead multiple IT initiatives from initiation through to deployment and beyond.
  • Participate in all team activities including but not limited to system support, research and design, functional testing, deployment, and store setup / renovations.
  • Assist the Manager, Application Development & Analysis with team scheduling and payroll administration, staff performance appraisals, and recruiting.
  • Regular reviews of support tickets to ensure service levels are maintained, tickets are assigned & issues are properly documented and escalated as required.
  • Regular review and revision of Commerce related policy and procedure
  • Communicate and work with various groups within London Drugs as well as partners and vendors.
  • Coach, train and develop staff to meet operating and succession planning goals. Give direction of assigned duties.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Sound judgment and ability to effectively problem solve as required.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask effectively and work under changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills, with an emphasis on managing all individuals within a team.
  • Coach, train and develop staff to meet operating and succession planning goals. Give direction of assigned duties.

Education and Knowledge :

  • College / University / Tech School degree in Information Technology is preferred
  • Training in project management would be an asset
  • Minimum five years' experience in Information Technology
  • Previous leadership and / or project management experience would be an asset
  • Experience and understanding the challenges of a 24 / 7 / 365 retail environment
  • Microsoft Dynamics (D365) Commerce, Power Platform, Azure, SQL Server, DevOps, Sharepoint & Office
  • Point of Sale Systems including Self-Checkout

The typical schedule is daytime Monday to Friday. Must be available to occasionally work evenings or weekends.
