International & Indigenous Languages (Elementary Program) Instructors Continuing and Community Education COMP CE : 019-23 The Ottawa Catholic School Board invites applications from candidates interested in being considered for the International & Indigenous Languages (Elementary) Program Continuing Education instructor positions and supply instructor positions, which may become available during the 2023-2024 school year.

The International & Indigenous Language Elementary Program runs from 9 : 30 a.m. to 12 : 00 p.m. and 1 : 00 - 3 : 30 p.m.

for 33 Saturdays from September to June. Please note that staffing is based on student enrollment and classes may be offered in-person, virtually, or both.

Languages and Times : Morning Classes Virtual and In Person 9 : 30 am to 12 : 00 pm Saturday In-person and / or Virtual American Sign Language (ASL), Amharic, Blin, Bulgarian, Cantonese, Creole, Croatian, Dari, Dutch, Farsi, Igbo, Inuktitut, Italian, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Korean, Kurdish (Kurmanji), Lingala, Mandarin (Simplified), Mandarin (Traditional), Pashto, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swahili, Tigrinya, Turkish, Yoruba Afternoon Classes Beginner Levels Gr.

• 2 to 8 Virtual 1 : 00 3 : 30 pm American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and Ukrainian Locations : Click here for Languages and Locations Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills : Must have knowledge of and fluency of the language (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing);
• Knowledgeable about the culture, history and traditions and be able to integrate them into classroom activities appropriate to the age group;
• Comfortable teaching online, in a classroom or a combination of both methods. OCSB will provide some training, support and mentoring;
• Post Secondary Education In addition, the following will be considered an asset : Previous experience working with children and / or youth;

Good computer skills (Google Apps, Microsoft Office). COMPENSATION : Instructors - $23.00 per hour / $29.50 if OCT certified per hour plus 4% vacation pay (depending on qualifications).
