Job Summary
The Trades Worker II (Carpenter) is a journeyperson level position that supervises staff involved in carpentry work. This position may include participating in the maintenance, repair and renovation of wooden structures (cabinets, desks, displays, workstations, etc.
using woodworking machinery and hand tools, estimating cost and ordering materials and supplies, performing preventative maintenance on various equipment and machines and liaising and communicating with contractors and performing other related duties as required.

Constantly lifts, carries or moves objects up to 11 lbs., regularly between 11 - 44 lbs. and occasionally over 44 lbs.
Regularly requires physical effort using tools that require accurate control and steadiness; maintaining physical balance, standing, walking, climbing, using gross and fine motor skills, and working in awkward or cramped positions requiring strength and / or endurance.
Work is impacted by time pressures / deadlines, interruptions and lack of control over work pace as priorities change, services being interrupted, etc.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from High School or equivalent.
Successful completion of a Journeyperson's Certificate in Carpentry.
A minimum of three years of carpentry experience is required.
Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
