Exploration Geologist (mining)
The Company
Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client are working together to source experienced and qualified talent for their site in West Africa.
This will be a Fly in Fly out role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct infill drilling, strike extensions, and depth extensions in underground exploration sites.
- Develop and implement plans for underground drill operations, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Interpret results from investigations, including geological data, core samples, and assays.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, and geologists to optimize exploration strategies.
- Utilize geological software and tools to analyze data and generate comprehensive reports.
- Monitor and assess geological conditions in underground environments to mitigate risks and maximize exploration success.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, sample collection, and laboratory analyses.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior geologists and field staff.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in exploration techniques, and geological research.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in exploration geology
- Proven track record of successful infill drilling, strike extensions, and depth extensions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with underground mining techniques and safety procedures.
- Professional fluency in English; proficiency in French is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
