Staffing Timelines

Staffing Timelines

Staffing timelines for Summer School become more and more constrained as we edge closer to the end of June. In fact, last minute hiring may occur over the last week of June, up to early July.

Initial offers of work for Co-op begin at the end of May in order to expedite the program. Other program offers of work will begin no earlier than June 10, 2024.

Offers will be sent to the email you provided in Apply to Education (ATE) by the Principal of Continuing Education. Please make sure that your preferred email address is up-to-date in ATE.

Offers of work will include specific response parameters, including timelines to accept / decline the offer. These timelines may be short (24 hours) and may be sent over the weekend.

Where acceptances are not received within the timeframe specified in the email, you may lose the opportunity to work within the Summer School program.

Staff Meetings and Professional Development

Each program will have a mandatory paid virtual Staff Meeting (1 hour) on the day prior to the start of the summer school program (July 2nd or 3rd), with the exception of the COOP program.

The staff meeting for COOP will be on June 5 at 440 Albert Street. The time for the meeting will be included in offer letters.

Teachers will also have the option to participate in up to 3 hours of approved paid PD. Further details about the optional PD will also be provided to successful applicants prior to the start of the session. .

All offers of employment will be conditional upon the program running in the summer of 2024.

PLEASE NOTE : As a condition of employment, all new employees will be required to submit a recent Police Record Check for the vulnerable sector prior to their start date with the OCDSB.

If you require accommodation at any point in the selection process, please send an email to [email protected] or [email protected].
