Hays has partnered with a general contractor located in the West GTA. Our client focuses on projects that are institutional, commercial, and industrial in nature.
Some examples include industrial business centers and warehouses, commercial interiors projects and other design build structures.
The current role is for an industrial project on the East side of the Greater Toronto Area.
Your new role
The Site Superintendent will oversee projects and ensure they are constructed according to plans, specifications and up to par with building codes and quality standards.
This individual will strategically plan and implement manpower levels and ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.
They will act as the site safety leader and lead project meetings with stakeholders. Finally they will oversee project reporting, ensuring site progress, inspections and events and all tracked properly.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful Site Superintendent candidate will have at least 5 years experience as a Superintendent for a general contractor, specifically doing Industrial Projects.
They will have an educational background in construction or related field and / or have the necessary technical training and certifications to perform the duties.
Furthermore this individual will have a solid understanding of current construction practices, a proven ability to guide safe work practices under pressure, and be an effective communicator having the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
The Site Superintendent must be able to work with Microsoft office and project tracking software. Experience with government buildings would be considered an asset.
