Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible formaintaining a safe and secure atmosphere at The Great Divide Lodge, operating as a staff accommodation.

Job Location :

The position is based at the Great Divide Lodge, located at the summit of the famous Kicking Horse Pass in Yoho National Park.

The 50 room hotel and hostel style staff accommodation overlooks the Canadian Rockies and Wapta Lake.

Job Responsibilities :

• Conducting security patrols of The Great Divide Lodge property
• Enforce "conditions of residence" as outlined in rental contracts
• Liaison with local law enforcement and emergency service agencies
• Respond to complaints and conduct investigations
• Provide assistance and / or information to employees and the general public
• Complete the required nightly security checks and any incident reports
• Keep all emergency exits and lodge entrances clear of snow
• All other related duties as required by the Security Supervisoror lodge Management

Job Requirements / Qualifications :

• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license (or international equivalent); previous Winter driving experience; a driver's abstract and a claims experience letter from a previous insurer stating 3 years claims-free history (obtained before commencing)
• Ability to enforce rules, without being influenced by friends / work colleagues.
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and responsible to work with minimal or no supervision
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
• First Aid, CPR, Self Defense and Mediation skills preferred
• Prior security / law enforcement experience is considered an asset
