Senior Manager, Data Trust COE, 1 Presidents Choice Circle, Brampton ON

The Data Trust Office is an enablement-first function. We believe in embedding privacy into our products and services to build customer loyalty and trust, which ensures compliance by default.

In this role you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving Loblaw’s enterprise privacy program by executing on the Data Trust strategy, policy, awareness, risk management, compliance, and legislative reform aspects of our Data Trust Centre of Excellence (COE) in a manner that is fit for our various businesses.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Privacy & Data Trust COE.

What You’ll Do :

  • Support the growth and evolution of the Data Trust COE.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of federal and global privacy developments, privacy enhancing technologies, and emerging technologies and their impact.

Implement privacy laws and regulations into operational practices.

Develop and implement robust privacy and data policies, procedures, standards, playbooks, guidelines and other tools that align with legal and regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Ensure policies are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the evolving privacy landscape, industry standards and business objectives.

  • Participate in industry forums to advance the Company’s
  • Develop and implement comprehensive privacy training programs for employees at all levels to raise awareness and promote a culture of privacy within the organization.

Provide ongoing privacy education to ensure staff remain informed about privacy-related matters.

  • Proactively identify and assess privacy risks across the organization and develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Track and report privacy risks, and key program and remediation activities.
  • Conduct operational privacy reviews to evaluate the maturity of the privacy program across the businesses and develop and implement action plans to enhance maturity and address compliance gaps.

What you Bring :

  • CIPP-C or equivalent certification preferred
  • Proven experience working in privacy in a corporate retail or other direct-to-consumer industry
  • Proven experience embedding privacy requirements through technical delivery programs, including through policy development, training and education and advocacy
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and presentation skills, including the ability to present succinctly and effectively to varying levels of management
  • Innovative, creative and action-oriented mindset, embracing privacy as a business enabler
  • Positive attitude and a willingness and ability to collaborate across multi-stakeholder groups
