Payroll Technician
We are looking for a French Bilingual Payroll Technician for a 6 months contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid with 2 days a month on site in Montreal.
Payroll Technician
The Payroll Technician administers, validates and enters all needed information in the HR / Payroll System for the processing of the weekly pay for all employees.
The technician must comply with all administrative processes and procedures in order to deliver weekly payroll on time. Validates that the expected results are satisfactory.
In addition, must ensure that the pay process, statutory and other remittances and GL account analyzes are completed.
Accountabilities
- Ensure timely and adequate pay remittance for all Canadian employees paid through the system.
- Answer to customer inquiries promptly, courteously and professionally in accordance with service level agreements.
- Perform needed analysis to resolve customer issues in depth and comprehensively.
- Use payroll knowledge to advice on issues and processes.
- Educate and support external clients and partners to ensure that everyone understands the impact of their work on employee's pay as well as the quality of the service to be delivered.
- Perform the processing, monitoring and verification of requests. Set and communicate priorities so that all tasks are completed on time.
- Validate the information entered by the different partners and, if necessary, reach out in order to obtain additional details.
- Maintain and comply with current operational procedures and, if necessary, suggest or update payroll standard operating procedures.
- Ensure and protects payroll data integrity.
- Perform established monitoring and controls and highlight common types of errors by reporting the results to the Payroll Supervisor.
Must Have Job requirements :
1.) Post-secondary diploma in administration or an appropriate field
2.) 1-2 years of experience as a payroll technician or as a benefits technician, finance or accounting
3.) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software’s Excel
4.) Autonomy and organizational skills
5.) Teamwork skills
6.) Customer oriented
7.) Bilingual (French and English, written and spoken)
8.) Ability to manage priorities
