Grader Operator / Float Truck Driver

Fine Gold Resources is a precious metals mining company operating in the Yukon. We operate on a seasonal basis from March to October and are looking for a qualified Grader Operator / Float Truck Driver to join our team as we prepare for the 2024 season.

This position is best suited to individuals who enjoy working hard for half the year and playing hard for the rest of it.

Typically, our employees work in the Yukon during the warmer months and travel south for the winter.

We provide accommodations and meals at our on-site camp and offer a highly competitive compensation package.

The mine operates 24 / 7 with two shifts each day - a day shift and a night shift - with a rotation schedule. During their time off employees may stay on-site at the camp or venture to Dawson City for some time away.

Job Duties

• Ensure safe work operations and full compliance with operating procedures.
• Operate Float Truck and Grader.
• Receive and execute directions from manager regarding day-to-day operations and tasks.
• Complete and record pre-& post trip inspection checks of the equipment.
• Report any defects found on equipment.
• Responsible for and / or assists in fueling and filling all the fluids in the equipment to the right level.
• Assist in the maintenance works of the equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices at worksites and on equipment.
• Prepare and submit required daily reports.
• Perform other functions such as manual labour, as required by operational needs and priorities.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience operating a grader.
• Experience driving a float truck / lowbed trucks or other truck-trailer configurations.
• Experience operating other heavy-duty equipment is an asset.
• Valid Class 1 Driver's License
• Acceptable Driver's Abstract
• Ability to work day and night shifts.
