Process Engineer – Flare and Overpressure Relief Systems
Location : Edmonton, Alberta
Duration : 2‑year contract (January 2026 – January 2028)
We are seeking a senior‑level Process Engineer to provide technical assurance and process safety support for flare and overpressure relief systems within a major upgrader operation. The role will focus on safeguarding critical process equipment, leading risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- PRV / PVSV sizing and overpressure relief evaluations
- Flare system design and contractor guidance
- Facilitation of PHAs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, Bowties, and other risk workshops
- Assurance for pumps, tanks, and pressure vessels
- Fire, explosion, and dispersion modelling (FRED, PHAST or equivalent)
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting commissioning / start‑up activities
