Kerry T. Howe Engineering Limited, a well-established civil engineering consulting firm providing services throughout the Niagara Region for over 70 years is seeking applications for a contract CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR.
Our work sites are limited to within the Niagara Region.
This posting could advance in to a full time position depending on the success of the contract,
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the project manager, oversee the construction of municipal services including roads, sewers and watermains as well as subdivision and private developments.
Duties : include verification and documentation of construction activities, providing record of construction information and liaising with the project manager, contractors, clients, and the public.
Prepare professional daily and weekly reports including photographs using word and / or excel company templates or inspection programs used by the specific municipality; i.e. Builterra.
Ability to check grades using survey level will be required.
Qualifications
The applicant should be a college graduate in a civil or construction engineering program and / or have previous inspection experience.
They must have a valid G drivers license along with access to a vehicle, enjoy working in an outdoor environment and be reliable and eager to learn.
The applicant must be able to read and understand engineering drawings. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Experience in with Total Station and GPS equipment (Sokkia), automatic levels, knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D and working knowledge of the "Builterra" Construction Management Program is an asset.
