Our private sector client, an established Ottawa-based legal service firm, is seeking a Litigation Practice Assistant to join their team on a permanent, hybrid basis.

Salary range : $55,000-$70,000

About you

To succeed in this role, you'll need :

• 3+ years experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant in commercial litigation, insurance, tort liability, or health law preferred.
• Diploma or equivalent experience as a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk
• Proficient in MS Office, especially advanced functions in Word.
• Professional communication with clients, lawyers, and firm members is essential.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with flexibility in setting priorities.

About the role

If hired, you will :

• Manage calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements
• Coordinate and review document production, filing, and record-keeping
• Handle telephone queries, emails, and client correspondence
• Care for clients, update their details and assist with basic queries.
• Assist with billing and credit control processes, liaising with lawyers and accountants
• Support marketing activities for lawyers (pitches and presentations)
