We are currently seeking the services of an Internist to be based at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL with an expectation to support regional needs throughout the larger Labrador-Grenfell Health regional Health Authority.

This opportunity is available immediately.

Qualifications :

To be considered, candidates must be eligible for registration and licensure as an Internist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador;

the criteria for licensure are outlined on the CPSNL website (www.cpsnl.ca)

Additionally, the successful candidate must satisfy credentialing requirements of Labrador-Grenfell Health.

Earned Medical Degree

Work experience is an asset

A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance

A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority

Duties : (Included but not limited to)

The general accountabilities of the position include :

o Based at St. Anthony, the Physician will provide Internal Medicine services at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital while maintaining services to help support needs throughout the larger Labrador Grenfell Health region.

o Functioning within the scope of practice of a General Internist

o Providing clinical services in General Internal Medicine within the scope of practice including consultations, follow up visits, ongoing care and seeing outpatients in an ambulatory clinic setting

o Providing treatments and therapies in which the incumbent had been adequately trained and supervised

o Participating in the hospital inpatient services is required, including the intensive care unit

The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care.

Patient and Worker safety at the Labrador Health Centre is a priority; as such, the successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to partner with all team members by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

The successful candidate will work as a part of a Team of physicians and nurses to provide the required services identified above.

Abiding by the Labrador Grenfell Health Medical Staff By-Laws, the policies of the organization, the rules and regulations of the Medical Staff and the Canadian Medical Association of Ethics

Salary :

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.

With a base salary ranging from $263,672 - $285,596 on a three step scale)

Incentives :

Approved relocation expenses paid at 100% with a two year commitment to our Health Authority
