Commissionaires BC are looking for security guards to join us to work with the City of Kelowna

Working hours : Thursday to Monday :

Must be available between the hours of 7am till 6pm (guaranteed 40 hours per week)
Payrate : $23 per hour
$23 per hour
Skills / Qualifications required :
- Valid BC Security License
- OFA 1 certificate or higher
- AST certification or willing to get
- BC Class 5 DL with a clean driver's abstract
- Living in Canada for the last 5 or more years to be eligible for security clearances
- 1-2 years working in security
- You have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Your nice to haves :
- Non Violent Crisis Intervention training
- De-escalation skills
- Experience using Tracktik software
Some of your responsibilities will include :
- Covering shifts at various sites as needed in the Kelowna / West Kelowna area
- Foot and vehicle patrols around downtown Kelowna
- Maintaining a safe environment for residents, business owners and those visiting Kelowna
- Handling any crisis situations in a calm and controlled manner
- Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts
- Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor
