Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, ARMS Inc. , is seeking to fill a Junior Web / Database Developer to join their team in St. John’s, NL.
ARMS Inc. (www.armsonline.ca) is a private company located in St. John’s, NL with a team of training, support and IT professionals in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia.
ARMS began in Newfoundland and Labrador in 2004 by providing tailored web-based case management services to six Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) agreement holders and 80 Employment Assistance Services (EAS) offices funded by Employment and Skills Development Canada (ESDC) and the Province of NL.
Over the past 18 years, the company has expanded significantly with technology solutions provided via the ARMS system to approximately 660 organizations with over 3,600 users.
ARMS is a powerful and easy to use web-based case management and labour force database system designed to meet the tracking and reporting requirements of service providers relating to employment, training, labour market development, apprenticeship, youth, residential, and social / community development.
The system is used nationwide and successful in supporting federal and provincial programs and can be easily customized to meet specific needs.
We have a wide variety of clients ISET Program and Skills and Partnership Funds grant agreement holders, First Nations, Inuit, and Metis as well as wide variety of non-Indigenous Community Agencies providing employment services, supporting persons with disabilities, children in care, women apprentices, labour market information and social housing clients.
ARMS has learned from collaborating with these clients and developed features to better support their service delivery. This learning and the resulting improvements in ARMS Inc.

Primary Role and Responsibilities :
- Assist the web development team with all aspects of website and application design.
- Assist with the testing and maintenance of both backend and front-end applications.
- Analysis, design, development, testing, and support of software systems & web-based solutions.
- Customer support and troubleshooting.
- Implementation of general website enhancements.
- Data management, custom reporting and queries.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and programming trends.
Qualifications :
- Possess a degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized IT institution or program.
- 1-3 years experience working with ASP.NET and SQL Server; or similar technologies.
- Experience working with Crystal Reports or similar technologies is an asset.
- Experience working with Classic ASP / VB - considered an asset.
- Understanding of information privacy and security principles.
- MUST be able to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability security clearance.
- An understanding for Indigenous culture; Experience working with communities of diverse backgrounds.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
