Responsibilities :
- Maintain service operations by inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various pieces of equipment, including gas, diesel, light and heavy-duty units.
- Complete maintenance and repairs as required.
- Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles.
- Test, measure, and verify gas component operations.
- Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting tests as required, including test drives, adjusting controls and systems, pressure tests.
- Operate / diagnose engines powered by diesel or gasoline.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Remain current with federal, provincial, and local codes and regulations and perform duties in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act / Code.
- Ensure that required tools, parts and supplies are available for each job performed.
- Complete required service and equipment performance reports as required.
- Other duties shall be assigned as required.
Desired skills and Experience :
- Trade Certification / Red Seal as an Automotive Mechanic..
- At least 3 years of experience as a Automotive Mechanic.
- Must have a Class 5 driver’s license at minimum Class 3 preferred and a CVIP license.
- Understanding of computer testing technologies.
- Ability to lift heavy machinery.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
- Welding and cutting abilities.
- Ability to work after-hours if required.
- Good communication skills.
