BBA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead for mine process plants to support our continued growth in Western Canada. The selected candidate will play a key role in all phases of engineering projects from front end studies through to field implementation with a focus on detailed engineering. As a senior member of the mechanical engineering team, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring technical quality, developing new business opportunities, and fostering team development.

- Develop mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals
- Perform high-level engineering on major mechanical packages such as : crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, dewatering
- Lead mechanical scope on conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering
- Be a key team member for small to major brownfield / greenfield mining projects
- Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing (site visits will typically be 3-10 days at a time up to twenty-five days a year; these numbers are negotiable during the interview process)
- Provide mentorship and coaching of junior / intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge, and supporting the enhancement of skills within the team

Proven track record with strong technical skills as a Mechanical Engineer on mineral process plant projectsAbility to interpret PFDs and process design criteria from process engineering, oversee plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection, technical bid evaluation and validation, and pump sizingUniversity degree in Mechanical Engineering12+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector with a preference for 5+ years in consultingMust be a registered P.Eng in CanadaValid driver’s licenseAvailable for site work and short-term assignments (3-10 days at a time up to twenty-five days a year)Asset : Site experienceAsset : Experience in base and precious metalsAn overview of BBA’s total reward
