Import Specialist (International Logistics)

A global retail (Japanese-inspired household goods, stationery, beauty products, food) is looking for an Import Manager to join their global team.

This position is full time / direct hired. We cannot sponsor work VISA or immigration process, so we are looking for someone who has valid open work permit (PR or Citizenship).

We are looking for someone who is familiar with international logistics and regulations.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has customs brokerage license. The key function of this position is oversee logistics activities and ensure inventory level, solve potential supply chain issue to minimizing risk of shipments to be stuck at airports or harbors.

Responsibilities for Import Specialist :

• Coordinate with the freight forwarder to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Oversee and facilitate the customs clearance process
• Work with CBSA and other Canadian government agencies to quickly resolve any issues pertaining to the import of products
• Conduct regular analysis of import data to identify areas of improvement
• Ensure compliance with all import regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs requirements
• Resolve an issue or delays in the import process to minimize disruptions
• Provide Canadian HS classification for all new products
• Manage CARM and the implementation of new CBSA importer requirements

Qualifications for Import Specialist :

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• Customs Broker license
• Experience as an Import Manager or similar role
• Experience in Customs entry writing or brokerage
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong computer and Excel skills
• Fluent in English (required)
• Ability to speak and read Japanese (preferred)
