Who you are and what you’ll do
- Build the team to automate the order-to-cash process, including responding to both proactive and reactive customer communications related to subscription billing and invoicing issues.
- Handle changes to customer details and address billing queries from customers.
- Actively manage the CRM data from HubSpot to NetSuite invoicing ensuring data hygiene and integrity as we introduce new workflows, products, and processes.
- Own the billing process for processes outside the automation and ensure accuracy and efficiency when posting customer invoices.
- Ensure timely and complete collections, enforce payment terms, and drive improvement of the collections process.
- Post customer payments in a timely manner.
- Provide reporting related to billings, collections aging, and forecasting needed by the Customer Success and Finance teams.
- Maintain accurate customer records as subscription changes occur, including upsell, downsell, churn, and product modification.
- Identify and implement process improvements in Billing Operations and the revenue accounting cycle.
- Understand revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and financial reporting surrounding the order-to-cash process, partnering with business stakeholders to identify and action downstream transactions triggered through the billing and / or collections process.
- Display strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and Excel skills.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Identify system or information gaps and propose and execute sustainable solutions.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis, reporting, and other related duties as assigned.

Our ideal candidate looks like :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience working in a SaaS environment.
- Proven ability to thrive in a scale-up environment.
- A solid understanding of core GAAP accounting principles and revenue recognition principles for software subscriptions.
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn tools like HubSpot, QuickBooks Online, and NetSuite.
- Passion for optimizing and automating processes and systems.
- Proactive, can take initiative, and manage your workday effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
