BIM Designer - Mechanical

Our mechanical design / build client is looking for a talented individual to join their BIM Team. The ideal candidate will be expected to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, where collaboration with project managers, on-site supervisors, and field staff is crucial.

The company emphasizes multi-trade coordination, pre-fabrication, and modularization throughout the project cycle, from initial design to final fabrication.

Must Have :

• Extensive knowledge of Revit.
• Extensive knowledge of Navisworks and working knowledge of clash detection practices.

Nice to Have :

• Experience working on hospital projects
• Revizto
• Vic Tools for Revit
• Autodesk Point Layout
• AutoCad
• Autodesk Inventor
• Bluebeam
• Practical Knowledge of plumbing code

Responsibilities :

• Utilize Revit to design and coordinate Mechanical and Plumbing systems daily.
• Develop models from design to as-built conditions and create detailed 2D and 3D construction documents for installation and pre-fabrication, such as sleeve layouts, installation drawings, fabrication drawings, pipe spooling, quantity take-offs, and as-builts.
• Work independently and collaboratively with other trades and partners on fast-paced projects.
• Update and track changes of existing models and attend design / construction coordination and clash detection meetings with other trades.
• Collaborate with field staff to optimize installation, review and inspect installations, and issue reports.
• Manage sub-trades in the BIM environment and prioritize tasks.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices by attending educational workshops and seminars, reviewing professional publications, establishing a personal network of industry peers, and being highly motivated to learn.
• Assist in estimating (as and when required).
