Position Summary
The Senior Manager Commercial Execution-Western Canada is accountable for overseeing the development, deployment and assessing the impact of Corby’s in-market activities.
This pivotal role will focus its efforts on continually raising the bar on execution by providing a clearly defined view of executional expectations, both the what’ and the how.’
Experienced and knowledgeable in the fundamentals of selling, this role requires a leader who is well organized, a strong communicator and motivator of people and an individual who enjoys working in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Collaborates with the Director of Commercial Execution and the Sales Managers on the development and cascading of annual, quarterly and monthly sales targets for the Execution Team.
- Collaborates with the Business Planning Manager and Sales Managers to develop, cascade and monitor performance of Quarterly and Monthly sales objectives.
Ensures these objectives are loaded into the Corby CRM (ACE) as per the expected timelines.
- Oversees Sales Team productivity and ensures performance is aligned with established KPIs.
- Responsible for Sales Team comprehension of the execution standards (from the Execution Playbook) and the in-market call process (CATs program).
- Oversees regional promotional budgets, ensuring the appropriate investment guidelines and tracking mechanisms are in-place.
- Accountable for the development (Coaching the Coach) for direct report Sales Managers within a defined region.
- Responsible for the recruitment and onboarding for a team of direct reports. Provides ongoing career coaching, builds capabilities and develops future talent for the organization.
- Responsible for the on-going performance management of direct reports, through monthly performance huddles with individual team members and by the adoption of Corby’s annual performance review cycle.
- In collaboration with the Sales Managers, responsible for the recruitment of all new sales personnel.
- Responsible for the timely reporting of information to Regional Trade Marketing Manager, Commercial Managers and the Regional Directors regarding competitive activity for new products, pricing, promotional and other merchandising activities.
- Responsible for raising the execution bar through evaluation of in-field execution and ongoing dialogue with the Director of Execution Commercial Execution and Business Planning Manager to evolve current ways of working improve quality of objectives.
- Collaborates with the Director of Commercial Execution to highlight new ways of working to improve performance or opportunities to enhance sales capabilities through the development and deployment of sales training programs.
Preferred Education and Experience
- University Degree
- Minimum of 3-5 years leadership / strategic experience within the spirits or CPG industry
- Local market knowledge is preferred

- Strong business acumen with analytic ability to assess business and drive organization forward
- Proven ability to manage conflict, people and issues
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate in a matrix organization
- Some travel required
