Educational Consultant Position
MIA is looking for a passionate education leader to coordinate the work leading to the opening of its Islamic School, planned for September 2023.
The tasks will include :
- Work with the MIA School Planning Committee
- Work with the MIS Board
- Prepare a plan to consult with the community on the opening of the school
- Take part in the fundraising events
- Lead the curriculum planning for the school
- Lead all the planning for the opening of the school including the liaison work with Manitoba Education
- Be able to work evening and weekend hours
This will be a consultancy contract for up to 15 hours per week, with room to grow into a principalship position
Duration : 6 months, with possible extension
The successful candidate will :
- Be a certified teacher in Manitoba, or able to transfer certification from another jurisdiction
- Have at least 5 years teaching experience
- Have leadership experience
- Be a person committed to the interest and wellbeing of the Muslim community in Manitoba
- Strong familiarity with Islamic teachings and values an asset.
- Have the ability to relate to the diverse parent and supporting school community
- Be committed to work within the MIA parameters as established by the Bylaws and Procedural Guidelines
- Be a team player committed to listen carefully and lead creatively
