Intermediate Project Engineer – Energy & Process
WSP is seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to join our Energy & Process division in Canada. The role supports projects from concept through construction across upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors and emerging low‑carbon markets.
What you’ll do
- Plan, schedule, estimate, and forecast project effort and design engineering deliverables.
- Review and approve cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and design documents.
- Lead project strategy to ensure early identification of critical issues and achievement of quality, schedule, and cost goals.
- Interpret and apply project specifications across all engineering disciplines.
- Coordinate with discipline teams and maintain engineering control documents.
- Serve as the main technical contact with the client and mentor junior engineers.
- Provide professional designation support on projects.
- Maintain quality control and quality assurance and recommend improvements.
Required qualifications
Post‑graduate degree in Engineering.Professional engineer (P.Eng.) or technical engineering (P.Tech.) designation.7–10 years of EPCM experience in the energy industry, including 3–5 years of direct project‑engineering responsibility.Track record of producing high‑quality work under competing deadlines.Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead client meetings and status reporting.Preferred qualifications
Experience with project‑level cost estimation, scheduling and risk management.Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams.Benefits
