We are seeking the services of an experienced 2nd Class Power Engineer to work as part of the management team a shift supervisor.
This is a senior position requiring proven experience and skill in directing the day to day activities of an operating crew.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years progressive experience in a leadership capacity. The position requires active participation in both the direction and accomplishment of shift duties.
Experience with electrical generation, solid fuel boilers, and Delta V control systems is desired. You will be directly responsible for the Safety, Environmental, and Operational Performance of your crew.
Physical demands of the position include the ability to climb ladders and structures, tolerate heights and varying temperatures, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate in close quarters and in confined spaces.
Strong leadership, oral / written communication, and problem-solving skills, with previous experience coordinating activities and directing plant operations, are essential requirements for the position.
The position entails shift work on a 36-hour work week, 12-hour shifts, structured in a five week rotation. Each rotation concludes with a seven day break.
