What is the opportunity?
The Wealth Management Canada (WMC) Digital and Data's Strategy & Planning team is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and dynamic Manager, Communications and Business Management that will deliver communications activities for the CIO, Wealth Management Canada and will help to tell WMC Digital and Data team's story across RBC.
The successful candidate will develop leader messages, plan events to engage a diverse team of employees and support our strategic efficiency efforts across the business.
This role also contributes significantly to communications planning and requires a senior communicator and strategic thinker with exceptional writing skills and the ability to build relationships across the enterprise.
What will you do?
Strategic Communications :
Develop a communications strategy and execute it for the WMC Digital and Data team, including proactively identifying opportunities for thought leadership and profile building
Deliver high-quality communications and employee engagement activities that support WMC's strategic goals
Write leader messages, speaking remarks and briefing materials for internal and external events
Plan and manage engaging, creative employee events including the town hall and senior leaders' forum, speaker preparation, presentations and video content
Support the CIO, Wealth Management Canada with leadership communications, employee engagement activities, town halls, AMAs, and other internal events
Manage communications channels for WMC Digital & Data team - Webex, Slack, Confluence, Connect etc.
Collaborate closely with colleagues across businesses and functions
Business Management :
Develop understanding of ongoing productivity & efficiency initiatives that impact WMC; promote culture of transparency around them, review benefit profiles ensuring initiatives are mobilizing and engage in socialization.
Support the teams and leaders with onboarding and offboarding of employees
Support Portfolio and Planning team with overall department's financial planning, invoice management and business financial reporting
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have :
Undergraduate degree / post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field
3+ years of communications experience, including internal and external communications and communications planning
Outstanding writing skills with experience developing speaking notes, executive briefs, presentations and employee messages
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate across businesses and functions
Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously
Nice-to-have :
Knowledge of financial services / wealth management and digital preferred
Proven track record as a respected strategic communications advisor to senior executives
