Intermediate Interior Designer

MatchBox Consulting Group is searching for an Intermediate Interior Designer in Calgary, AB. Our client is a multi-disciplinary firm with Architects, Interior Designers, and Master Planners, working in Western Canada.

They have a proven track record of excellence in sustainable projects, and work on a variety of typologies such as : Civic & Culture, Education, Emergency services, Healthcare & Seniors, Office & Workplace, Public Works & Operations, Multifamily & Mixed-Use, Retail, Sports & Recreation, and Urban Planning Policy.

This role will lead phases of interior and integrated design projects under Senior Designer or Project Lead guidance, coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct site verifications, gather space inventory data, and prepare programming analysis.
• Develop space planning, code studies, design concepts, and presentation materials.
• Select materials, finishes, and prepares sample boards, as well as furnishing selections and documentation.
• Prepare contract documents, specifications, and coordinate with consultants, vendors, and clients.
• Participate in client meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and assist in construction administration.
• Work on multiple projects under guidance, communicate task progress, mentor junior staff, and provide support as needed for project success.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Interior Design
• Understanding of building code, integrated projects, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Knowledge of building components, construction methods, sequencing, design and construction processes, contract documents, details, specifications, finish specifications, materials applications, graphic / visualization, and hand sketching
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, Sketch-Up, Photoshop
