Position Summary
The Estimator & Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for submitting project estimates, and once awarded, overseeing the processing of colour charts, purchasing and billing.
Estimating
- Collaborate with the Lead estimator and assist with contract bids for low rise and high-rise projects
- Review drawings, scope of work, create takeoffs bids for submittals
- Conduct detailed review and analysis of projects to ensure all areas of work are clearly defined
- Consult with builders and décor centers to resolve / clarify any issues or discrepancies in documentation
- Lead and facilitate the material & labour pricing process end-to-end; pricing extras as requested by builders, create billing charts for builders
- Review and identify any out of the ordinary’ issues that may require approval in advance of work commencing
- Ensure all documentation is consistently updated throughout the project life cycle (change orders / requests etc.)
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies (with the builders) that are brought up by site supers
- Prepare billing schedule for A / R
- Any areas that have structural changes which differ from the original base model pricing, will have to go through the Estimating department so they can advise on the sqft required and communicate / quote any extras to the builder.
- Initiate / create new projects in SAGE, as needed
- Review projects to ensure materials / labour are accurately allocated for final job costing.
Required :
- Mathematical and measurement skills
- Blue beam software for take off of plans
- Communication skills to liaison with Builder customers
- Analytical capabilities in order to review job scopes accurately to prepare for estimates
- Excel spreadsheets medium to high level
Asset :
- Background in tile trade / construction industry
- Accpac / SAGE software
