Journeyman Pipefitter - Industrial
We are currently hiring Journeyman Pipefitters for maintenance and new construction projects throughout Western Canada. Responsibilities Work with precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Fabricate and assemble piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for oil & gas processing systems. Make decisions based on measurable criteria and visualize objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings.
Able to read and follow drawings. Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications. Inspects worksites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain the holes will not cause structural weakness.
Follows the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other disciplines. Cuts pipe using various tools and equipment.
Threads pipe using threading machine, also bends pipe with hand or with a pipe-bending machine. Assemble and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipe and pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic.
Follows all welding procedures (WPS) for the purpose of tacking pipe components. Secures pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers, using hand tools.
Installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges. Able to follow instructions exactly as given.
Works closely with Pipefitter Apprentices. Reports any issues and / or concerns to the Piping Foreman. Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Pipefitter.
Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines. Demonstrate an ability to prioritize activities and stay focused in a dynamic ever changing environment.
