What we are looking for :

The General Accountant reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Corporate Reporting, will be responsible for performing month-end financial close processes and will contribute to the preparation of consolidated financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities :

• Prepare schedules and journal entries for corporate accounting to support month-end close;
• Maintain accounting records for holding companies, including quarterly reporting and the annual financial statements;
• Prepare supporting schedules, analysis, and disclosures to support the quarterly consolidated financial statements and internal reporting;
• Perform tracking of global audit fees, including monitoring of invoices and accruals and quarterly reporting to the Audit Committee;
• Provide support and answer queries from external auditors;
• Correspond and coordinate with multiple divisional accounting teams and other corporate departments for the preparation of intercompany reconciliations and financial statements;

Respond to ad hoc requests from various stakeholders.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role :

• Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance;
• Professional accounting designation (CPA) or working towards is an asset;
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive work experience in accounting;

Demonstrated knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards

• Experience with financial and consolidation systems (e.g. SAP 4 S / 4Hana considered an asset) and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel;
• Ability to grasp new technology and tools;
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle a large workload with many ongoing projects;
