Chief Business Officer

Role Overview

Chief Business Officer reports to the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer and will operate at the forefront of accelerating TRIUMF’s commercialization strategies. The unit will be responsible for driving the translation of TRIUMF’s scientific discoveries into commercial and societal impact through comprehensive development of key market segments and a hand‑picked team.

You are a visionary, strategic, and highly proactive leader with a proven record in technology transfer and innovation management. You bring expertise in building business cases, intellectual property strategy, licensing, and venture creation, and can translate complex scientific research into meaningful commercial and societal impact. With an advanced degree (PhD, JD, or MBA) and significant experience leading commercialization initiatives in academic, industry, or research environments, you are a perfect fit.

Location

TRIUMF is located on the south campus of the University of British Columbia, in the heart of Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver, BC (traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xwməθkwəy ̓ ə m People).

Salary

The expected salary range is $200,000 – $245,000 plus pension and benefits.
