Camp Cook
Position DescriptionReports to the camp director, working alongside the camp staff.During the summer for a staff of approximately fifty, and for larger overnight camp groups.
During the off season for weekend retreats and special events.Oversees the preparation and serving of food at camp. Responsibilities Menu planning for balanced meals, food purchasing, and receiving of deliveries.
Managing volunteers and staff; ensuring proper hygiene practices.Food preparation, and dining room management.Cleaning, organization, and prep for retreats etc.
during the off seasonComplying with Ontario Health and Safety regulations in the kitchen and dining areas. Skills & Qualifications Food Handler Certificate.
Well organized : Able to plan appropriate menus and order accordingly.Able to steward camp resources well, including price comparison and leftover food usage.
Good time management.Experience cooking for large groups is an asset.Able to work well with and serve those who are on the camp property.
