Conditions of Employment :
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- A satisfactory Criminal Record check with vulnerable persons check
- Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment as necessary
- A valid Structural Pesticide Applicator’s license from the Province of Manitoba
- A valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s license
- Ability to travel throughout the province by vehicle, small aircraft and boat. Travel includes overnight stays in rural / remote locations
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours as necessary
- Physically capable of lifting up tp 50 lbs., kneeling, crouching, bending, standing, walking, walking up stairs, work in dusty conditions and confined spaces, working at heights, working in extreme hot or cold temperatures
Qualifications : Essential :
- Experience in pesticide application, pest inspection, and heat treatment.
- Experience preparing units and buildings for pest treatment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal effectively with tenants and the public.
- Experience maintaining inventories of materials, supplies and equipment.
- Ability to follow pest management best practices, procedures, regulations and industry standards.
- Knowledge of safe work procedures and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to deal with conflict.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Duties : Reporting to the Manager, Integrated Pest Management Group, the incumbent is responsible for pest elimination and integrated pest management in Manitoba Housing portfolio locations on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
The incumbent works as part of a team to ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of pest management in accordance with federal / provincial regulations.
